Dr. Nils Heineking
Patent Engineer | Professional Representative before the EPO
After studying chemistry at the Universities of Hannover and Kiel, Dr. Heineking obtained his Doctorate in Natural Sciences from the latter University. During his thesis and his subsequent stay as a post-doctoral fellow at the University of British-Columbia, Vancouver, Dr. Heineking investigated the fundamental structure and dynamics of molecules applying such techniques as Fourier-transform microwave and FIR spectroscopy. He worked with low-pressure static gas and molecular beam techniques. He then worked as a research assistant at the Humboldt-University, Berlin, investigating ultrafast processes in liquids using pump-probe and non-linear optical methods.
Dr. Heineking is experienced in spectroscopy, vacuum and molecular beam techniques, pulsed laser and other optical methods, development of mathematical models, and computational data analysis. Dr. Heineking joined our firm in 1999, and since then he has specialized in patent prosecution, oppositions against patents, patent litigation and opinion writing.
Dr. Heineking speaks German and English.
