Dr. Richard Diehl

Since 2013, Dr. Diehl works for Diehl & Partner GbR. His areas of practice involve drafting and prosecuting of German, European and international patent applications as well as preparing validation and infringement opinions. He is a German Patent Attorney since 2016 and Professional Representative before the European Patent Office and the European Union Intellectual Property Office since 2017.
Dr. Diehl is specialized in optics, electrical engineering, control engineering, and nanotechnology. His expertise further includes computer implemented inventions, process control and sensor technology.
Dr. Diehl graduated from the university of applied sciences Ravensburg in cooperation with EADS Germany (today Airbus Group) in the field of electrical engineering with focus on communication technology. From the Karlsruhe School of Optics and Photonics of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) he received the Master of Science in the field of optics and photonics in 2009 and specialized himself on optical materials and devices. At the Institute of Nanotechnology of KIT, he researched in the area of generation and characterization of nanostructures. In 2012, he received his PhD in natural sciences in the field of optics and photonics. For his PhD thesis, he researched in the area of optical properties of coupled split ring resonators.
